This chromatic combination method works as an international reference to choose, mix and match colors. The Pantone Guide offers samples of a great quantity of colors in small cardboard sheets with a number per color. In this way, each color can be precisely identified: the same results can be obtained every time a color mixture is made. Thanks to this chromatic guide the color formula for each Pantone color is defined. This allows printers to be precise about CMYK mixtures. Pantone gives the necessary cyan, magenta, yellow and black proportions to obtain the desired colors. In general, leading brands use Pantone colors to remain consistent. The chromatic Pantone scale includes some special colors: metallic, pastel and fluorescent colors.
